Afterwards, you are conveniently driven back to the airport to take your flight back home. In as short as 4-5 days, and with only one flight into Ho Chi Minh you can explore and enjoy all the wonders of South Vietnam,

The South Vietnam Discovery Tour

The South Vietnam discovery tour is a convenient itinerary for foreigner tourists to discover the wonders of South Vietnam in as short as 4-5 days.

The tour would start with a flight into Ho Chi Minh to discover the War museum, go shopping and experience the world class food for which Vietnam is famous.

After 1 or 2 days in Ho Chi Minh, tourists can chose a daytrip to the Mekong Delta to see the natural and the local life – the old Vietnam.

Then finally end the Vietnam trip with a convenient 2-hour shuttle bus/taxi to spend a few days in Ho Tram – Saigon’s Beach Paradise – to relax and enjoy the beach, the forests, the food, the culture and all the other amenities.

Getting to Ho Tram from Ho Chi Minh is 2 hours drive and is getting increasingly easy. To and from the airport to Ho Tram takes about 2.5 hours. You can go directly from the Airport to Ho Tram by:

Why is the Ho Tram weather in the winter so nice compared to Da Nang and Nha Trang?

The weather in Ho Tram is nice all year round, especially during the months of October to March. Unlike Da Nang and Nha Trang, which are in the middle of Vietnam. Ho Tram, which is in South Vietnam, is lucky to not get the winter storms from the Pacific Ocean because South Vietnam and Ho Tram are protected from the Pacific Ocean winter storms and winds by the Philippines, which often gets harsh weather during the winter months. Ho Tram from October to March is characterized by calm winds and sunny warm weather with 20-25 days of sunshine per month, compared to Da Nang where it gets very strong winds, only 10 days a month of sunshine, and lots of rain and storms.

What is the difference between Mui Ne and Ho Tram?

Mui Ne is a beach town that is more than 200km from HCM, while Ho Tram is about 100km from HCM. Mui Ne has been a well known destination for more than 30 years, whereas Ho Tram has become known only in the past 10 years due to new highways to Ho Tram. Mui Ne is in general a 3-4 star destination with small and old hotels scattered on a stretch of beach. Ho Tram is a higher end destination with 4-5 star international standard beach-front resorts. Most of the Ho Tram resorts are new and are large and spacious, some on more than 10 hectares of land.

What is the difference between Vung Tau and Ho Tram?

Vung Tau and Ho Tram are in the same province - called Ba Ria Vung Tau. When you enter Ba Ria, the roads on the right take you to Vung Tau and the roads on the left take you to Ho Tram. Ho Tram and Vung Tau are about 40km from each other, or about 40 minutes by car. Vung Tau is an old established city with about 500,000 residents. It is a popular tourist town for Southern Vietnamese that is set on the coast, and has been a local tourist destination for years. Most of the hotels are 2-3 stars with some new 4 star hotels. Most of the hotels are not on the beach, but across the street. Vung Tau has hundreds of restaurants and hotels and lots of culture and local food activities. Ho Tram was developed only in the last few years and is a 4-5 star destination with beach front resorts - serving the needs of guests looking for a truly 5-star beach resort. Vung Tau provides a great day-trip for Ho Tram guests.

Can I check in early or checkout late at Hotels in Ho Tram?

You should check with your hotel regarding early check in and late check out. Most hotels and resorts tend to be flexible, subject to occupancy. Also, most welcome you to come early and enjoy the resort and their facilities and check into your room when it is ready. For late check out, you can remove your baggage from the hotel room and check out, then spend the rest of your day enjoying the resort or Ho Tram. Before you leave for the city or the airport you would pick up your luggage at the concierge.

Does it make sense to spend a few days in Ho Chi Minh before driving to Ho Tram?

It makes alot of sense to spend a day or two in Ho Chi Minh before going to Ho Tram, since these two destinations provide very different experiences. Ho Chi Minh is constantly improving its culinary offering and nightlife. A day or two in HCM lets you see what HCM, the largest, most vibrant city in Vietnam has to offer. Ho Tram, in contrast, provides you with a relaxing beach experience at newly built international standard resorts. These two experiences together give you the full South Vietnam experience - in as short as 4-5 days!

Is transport to and from Ho Tram easy?

Transport can be easily arranged by your hotel in Ho Tram. You can take a free shuttle bus to Ho Tram and back to the city, or you can arrange for a private car or taxi. There are many taxis and Grab drivers in Ho Chi Minh and Ho Tram, so transport can be very easy, make sure you ask your concierge to arrange for you or help you negotiate and communicate with the taxi drivers.

How do I get around in Ho Tram?

Taxis are always available 24/7, especially at the large resorts and hotels. Have your concierge help you communicate with the taxi drivers. Many resorts also have private cars to book if you would like.

Why is Ho Tram not well known yet?

The infrastructure to Ho Tram, including the highways, were finally completed only a few years ago. So in 2010, most of the people in Ho Chi Minh had never heard of Ho Tram. Also most of the new resorts and hotels were completed in the past 5 years - before covid and after covid - so most of what you see in Ho Tram is brand new. Over the next few years, as more international guests get to know Ho Tram, it is expected that Ho Tram will rapidly become an international destination. The proximity to HCM and the new airport, combined with some of the best weather all year round will propel the growth of Ho Tram.

What foreign tourists are in Ho Tram?

Ho Tram attracts foreign tourists from Korea, Australia, Europe, Japan, China -- and increasingly from all over Asia and the USA. Because of Ho Tram's 2 hours drive, Ho Tram attracts alot of tourists that come to HCM and want a few days at a beach that is close by. Ho Tram is also now becoming the playground of wealthy locals and expats living in Ho Chi Minh, especially during the summers and holidays. Increasingly, Ho Tram's great winter weather is attracting Koreans and Europeans who want to escape the cold and go to the best beach weather in Vietnam during the months of October to March.
